Join us for our latest podcast episode featuring a conversation between Anita Schjøll Brede, CEO & Co-Founder at Iris.ai, and Matthew Ismail, Editor in Chief of the Charleston Briefings and Conference Director.
Anita currently lives in Denmark and is the CEO and Co-Founder of Iris.ai, which is an AI company handling published scientific research founded in 2015. She also gives lectures and workshops on AI, innovation, and the future of technology. Anita is a faculty member at Singularity University, which she describes as a mix of a think tank and an educational facility for corporates and continuing education.
Anita and Matthew discuss how she began working in AI after receiving her bachelor's degree in Theater. Anita had an opportunity to travel to Silicon Valley where she found herself in the middle of tech-enabled, large-scale entrepreneurship. She worked in a start-up there for several years and then founded other companies involving AI. Anita’s present company, Iris.ai, is a virtual research assistant that will automate key parts of a research project by analyzing the abstract of a research paper, presenting the key concepts, and linking those concepts with research papers. This process, says Anita, can allow researchers to focus only on the papers that are most relevant to their particular research project.
