Kent has a background in art and journalism, and a long history of working at the top of the publishing industry. He’s currently an active consultant, peer reviewer and author who produces a daily newsletter called The Geyser.
Kent and Matthew discuss how he came to be involved with scholarly publishing and what he thinks is the fundamental goal and responsibility of scholarly publishing. Kent says a publisher should be a trusted expert intermediary who adheres to publishing and research standards of excellence and helps users by reducing complexity and who serves the reader and the community with the best quality and most relevant materials.
