Against The Grain Journal

Charleston Library Conference

Jul 1, 2019

Today on the podcast, we have part one of our Penthouse Suite Interview with Lisa Hinchliffe, the Coordinator for Information Literacy Services and Instruction for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Lisa is being interviewed by Against the Grain’s Tom Gilson and Nancy Herther, the Sociology/Anthropology Librarian from the University of Minnesota. They discuss the role of librarians in the teaching/learning relationship, the RA21 project, and the ATG Trendspotting Initiative.

After that, T. Scott Plutchak, retired from the University of Alabama, briefly reviews the goals, progress and future plans of the Open Scholarship Initiative. The Open Scholarship Initiative, or OSI, is a multi-year effort to engage all of the stakeholders involved in scholarly communication activities. His presentation is followed by a brief discussion with Anthony Watkinson.
